Placé sous le co-parrainage du ministère de
l’Économie Sociale, des Petites et Moyennes
Entreprises et de l’Artisanat, l’Ambassade de
France et l’Ambassade de Côte d’Ivoire au
Cameroun, ledit gala a été un grand moment
d’exposition du savoir-faire et de l’immense
talent des modélistes camerounais.
Les créateurs de mode ont offert un beau
spectacle aux invités, au premier rang desquels, tremendous talent and huge potential of
Mme Chantal BIYA, bien au fait de l’évolution
de la mode dans le pays. En effet, la mode dans
l’artisanat africain est un formidable vecteur
de valorisation des cultures, d’autonomisation
économique et de préservation du patrimoine.
Elle incarne l’alliance harmonieuse entre
tradition et modernité, permettant à notre
pays de se positionner comme un acteur
incontournable dans l’industrie mondiale.
La Première Dame est bien consciente de ce
que le secteur de la mode et du design au
Cameroun regorge de créativité, de diversité
et de potentiel économique. Mais, pour se
développer durablement et atteindre une
reconnaissance mondiale, il nécessite un
soutien concret qu’elle s’emploie à lui apporter in collaboration with the Ministry of Small and
par sa présence efficace et discrète.
Mrs Chantal BIYA’s continuous engagement
in the development of this domain has been a
formidable source of encouragement to young
entrepreneurs. Their dreams to build a solid
platform to market Made in Cameroon brands
are now a reality through hard work, resilience,
and the constant sharpening of their skills.
It was an occasion to also recognise the
young designers like Emile Issarou and Pasma
Yapumfout. Their creativity marched perfectly
with the theme “Ecosystem”. It sent a strong
message for a more eco-friendly and sustainable
fashion world that champions the preservation
of our biodiversity.
Mentorship from household names like Imane
Ayissi spiced the rendezvous. His immense
contribution remains an inspiration and his
works are an important assert in opening a
brighter path to the next generation of artists.
The spectacular fashion week is the brainchild
of the Cameroon Centre of Modelling. The
event organized on 23 November was realised
Medium-sized Enterprises, Social Economy and
Crafts, the Embassy of Cote d’Ivoire, and the
French Embassy.
